Mrs. Jessica Romance

Well, hello there! I have been a teacher at Belfast Central School for 8 years. I graduated from Fillmore Central School in 2005 and then attended Houghton College where I graduated in 2008 with a degree in Inclusive Childhood Education. Following my undergraduate years, I worked as a graduate assistant at St. Bonaventure University and completed my Master's in Literacy. In my 10 years of teaching, I have taught pre-school, special education, resource room, and 2nd grade. This is my fourth year teaching 2nd grade at Belfast Central School and I LOVE teaching in the primary grades. I may be biased, but I think 2nd grade is the best grade!

I have also held various coaching and instructing positions in softball, cheerleading, gymnastics, and drama. I am currently the Houghton College cheerleading coach and drama choreographer at Fillmore. I am also co-directing the elementary musical at BCS.

My husband Peter (also a Fillmore alum) and I currently reside in Fillmore in the home we built, only 1 mile from my childhood home. We have two children, Katelyn & Aaron, two dogs, a cat, and horses. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family. I love hiking, reading, horseback riding, singing on my church worship team, ice skating on my pond, baking, quilting, and watching and playing sports, especially soccer. I also love country music, traveling, the beach, and I could eat ice cream any time, any place! My favorite places are the Adirondack Mountains and Beulah Camp, New Brunswick Canada.

I have wanted to be a teacher my entire life and am happy to be fulfilling that dream at Belfast Central School! Teaching gives me an excuse to be a learner for life!
