Dr. Wendy Butler
I began my career as an educator working with students with disabilities in grades 7-12 at Scio Central School. I spent 16 years as an educational leader at Fillmore Central School. While there, I filled many roles, including PK-4 Principal, Director of Curriculum, Director of Technology, Chief Information Officer, and Compensatory Education Coordinator. These experiences have truly prepared me to be the superintendent at Belfast Central.
I am a life-long resident of Allegany County. I graduated from Friendship Central School. I attended St. Bonaventure University, where I earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Philosophy/ Pre-Law, a Master’s in Special Education, and a Master’s in Administration, Curriculum, and Supervision. I also earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
I live in Friendship, NY, with my husband Joe. We have two grown children who currently live in Texas and Hawaii. We also have one super cute grandson and granddaughter.
