BOE Goals

Belfast Central School Board of Education Goals 2022-2025 

 

Goal 1 -- Academic Program and Student Achievement 

Belfast Central School District's academic program will provide all students with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities necessary to be successful as learners, workers, and citizens. To ensure that all students can achieve this standard, all members of the instructional staff will: 

·         Maintain a focus on the whole child while implementing district and state standards 

·         Provide academic support to students at all levels 

·         Continue to evaluate academic targets for 3-8 grade ELA and Math, Regent's Mastery levels and literacy in grades Pre-k -12 by using data and short and long term instructional plans to ensure that Belfast students succeed in their academic endeavors.  

·        Work to raise achievement scores at all levels of instruction, with a focus on increased differentiated instruction

·         Create learning experiences that connect academic instruction and real-life applications

 

Goal 2 -- School Climate and Culture 

The Belfast Central School District will provide a safe, respectful, caring environment, and strengthen home-school connections. To ensure achievement of this goal, all district staff will: 

·         Implement restorative practices to create authentic social/ emotional environments 

·         Engage in open communication with students, families, and community members 

·         Invite families to participate in school activities 

·         Utilize social media to share information to promote Belfast Central School

·         Foster positive digital citizenship within students

 

Goal 3 -- Operations and Budget 

Belfast's operations and budget will reflect the academic priorities of the school community. The budget will be structured to support all district programs and operations while maintaining strong fiscal practices. To ensure achievement of this goal, the district will: 

·         Create a fiscally responsible budget that addresses the needs of students and the Belfast community 

·         Develop transparent, long range and student-centered spending plans that includes a balanced budget over the years 

·        Build educational partnerships to enhance district programs, operations, and educational opportunities for our students
