BOE Goals

 

Goal 1 -- Academic Program and Student Achievement 

 

To ensure that all students can achieve this standard, all members of the instructional staff will:

• Maintain a focus on the whole child while implementing district and state standards
• Provide academic support to students at all levels
• Elevate academic proficiency for Grades 3–8 ELA and Math, Regents Mastery levels, and PreK–12 literacy for all students
• Use data to guide both short- and long-term instructional planning and ongoing assessment practices
• Differentiate instruction to increase the academic performance of students with disabilities and from low socioeconomic backgrounds
• Create learning experiences that connect academic instruction and real-life applications

Goal 2 -- School Climate and Culture 

 

To ensure the achievement of this goal, all district staff will:

• Implement restorative practices to create authentic social/ emotional environments
• Engage in open communication with students, families, and community members
• Communicate openly and honestly through proper channels
•  

Goal 3 -- Operations and Budget 

 

To ensure achievement of this goal, the district will:

• Create a fiscally responsible budget that addresses the needs of students and the Belfast community
• Develop a transparent, long-range, and student-centered spending plan that includes a balanced budget over the years
• Build educational partnerships to enhance district programs, operations, and educational opportunities for our students
